6 Mile Swim
Sue and the kids dropped me off at the Iroquois Point Beach in Ewa a little after noon. I swam from there to Sand Island where they picked me up three hours and forty minutes later. The surf was rough, winds coming from the NorthEast combined with 3 foot swells made for slow progress and a thorough challenge. This was my first true open water swim without a support boat. Lately I've needed some time to get back in touch with my values and commitments. Fear, rough water and quiet time in the middle of the ocean is a great way to rededicate. This jaunt is also good training for the upcoming channel crossing Bill and I are getting ready to do.
